About Age Calculator

Compute exact age in years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds since a date. Days until next birthday. Day of week of birth. Useful for birthday cards, age-of-account computations, and the moment a project hits a round number.

What “exact age” means

Calendar age is years-and-months-and-days, computed by stepping the date forward, not by averaging. 30 years 4 months 12 days, not 30.36 years. The difference matters past about 6 months — averaging produces fractional months that nobody recognizes.

Common workflows

Birthday card with trivia. Calculate age in days, hours, minutes. Surprising large numbers make memorable cards.

Project anniversary. Drop in start date. “TypeParser is 1 year, 3 months, 14 days old.” Auto-update on README via a generator.

Account age verification. From created_at to now — useful for fraud heuristics (“account < 24 hours old → flag”).

How long until 60? From today to the date you turn 60. Plan accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

Years vs days vs hours?
Each is shown. Pick the unit that matters — years for casual use, days for project ages, hours/minutes/seconds for celebratory milestones.
Time zone?
Both dates use your local zone. For UTC-based age (e.g. account creation timestamp), set the input to UTC.
Day of week of birth?
We compute and display "you were born on a Tuesday". Useful trivia for birthday cards.
Days until next birthday?
Counts days from today to the next anniversary. Useful for planning. Handles leap-day birthdays.
Age difference between two people?
Use the Date Difference tool with both birth dates as inputs.
Project age?
Yes — drop your project's start date as the birth date. "Repository is 487 days old" makes a good README badge.
